Refund Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
DRAFT — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. From decision 15 in
docs/self-serve.md.This policy must also be shown at the point of purchase, not only here. A yearly customer who discovers the proration rule at cancellation time reads it as a trick. Shown before they pay, it is simply the deal.
The rule in one sentence
We refund the part you have not used, worked out at the regular monthly price of $14.99 — so a yearly discount does not survive early cancellation.
Before you pay anything
You do not need this policy to try iOrder. Signing up is free. You can build your whole menu, pick your colours, print a test code and look at it on your own phone before you are asked for a penny. Publishing is what you pay for.
If iOrder is not right for you, stop before you publish and there is nothing to refund.
Monthly subscriptions
Cancel at any time. Your menu stays live until the end of the month you have paid for, and then stops.
We do not refund part of a month already begun.
Yearly subscriptions
If you cancel part way through a year, we refund the unused months at the regular price of $14.99 a month, not at the discounted yearly rate.
A worked example, because this is the part people get wrong:
You pay $120 for a year. You cancel after 6 months. You have used 6 months. At the regular price that is 6 × $14.99 = $89.94. Your refund is $120 − $89.94 = $30.06.
Not $60. The yearly price is a discount for committing to a year, so leaving early means the discount no longer applies to the time you did use.
This is why we say it before you buy, on the payment screen, and not only here.
Membership cards
A membership card bought from eBay or another seller is refunded by whoever sold it to you, under their rules — not by us. We cannot move money through a sale we did not take.
If your card has already been redeemed and you want to stop using iOrder, email us and we will cancel the subscription. Whether money comes back is between you and the seller.
If a seller's own buyer protection gives you more than this policy does, you get the better of the two.
If we suspend or close your account
The same rule applies. If we end your subscription, we refund the unused part at the regular price of $14.99 a month.
One exception: if an account is closed for breaking the Acceptable Use Policy — for example publishing unlawful content — we may decline a refund. We will tell you why.
Price rises do not apply to you
If we raise our prices, you keep the price you signed up at. A rise reaches new sign-ups only. A refund is always worked out from the regular price in force when you signed up, not today's.
What happens to your menu
Your published menu stops showing. Your customers see a short page asking them to speak to a server — never a broken page, an error, or someone else's menu.
Your work is kept for six months. Come back inside six months and everything is where you left it. We email you at month five with a warning and a copy of your menu. After six months it is deleted. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy, section 8.
Your web address is never given to anyone else, so an old table tent in a drawer can never lead a diner to a stranger's restaurant.
